Four labs in New Jersey, Georgia and Texas billed about $522 million for genetic tests that marketers sold at health fairs and door to door, and insurers paid about $84 million.
The lab owner pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 151 months. The labs paid kickbacks to marketers, disguised as payments for marketing services.
