$1.2 billionalleged losses in the 2019 Operation Brace Yourself telemedicine brace takedown
In April 2019 prosecutors charged two dozen people in Operation Brace Yourself and put the alleged losses from a telemedicine brace scheme at $1.2 billion.
Charges are allegations and each person is presumed innocent unless convicted. NBC News reported that call centers in the Philippines and Latin America were part of the scheme.
