Reported US losses to SIM-swap fraud fell 76% between 2022 and 2025, from $72.7 million to $17.4 million.
Complaints fell from 2,026 to 971. The average loss per complaint is still about $17,900, among the highest of any category the FBI tracks, so it remains a serious, low-volume crime.
