400,000estimated sovereign citizen movement adherents in the US
The Anti-Defamation League estimates there may be 350,000 to 400,000 sovereign citizen movement adherents in the US, the pool these debt-elimination schemes recruit from.
Not all adherents are equally active, but the movement has produced fraud schemes using fictitious bonds and bonded promissory notes since the early 1980s.
