A Social Security judge approved nearly 100% of the disability claims he considered, against a national average of about 62%.
David Daugherty retired from the bench in 2011, years before any criminal charge, after questions about his relationship with the attorney whose cases he kept approving. He was eventually sentenced in 2017 to four years in prison and over $93 million in restitution.
