10,000reservations prosecutors linked to one Airbnb and Vrbo double-booking scheme
Prosecutors alleged one double-booking scheme was linked to more than 10,000 reservations at nearly 100 properties in 10 states.
The 2024 indictment's $8.5 million figure was an allegation. One of the two defendants later pleaded guilty to wire fraud and was sentenced in August 2026 to one year and one day in prison.
