$300Mfictitious bond one sovereign citizen leader mailed to the US Treasury
A sovereign citizen group's self-proclaimed 'president,' who held nationwide seminars on paying debt with fake bonds, personally mailed a $300 million fictitious bond to the US Treasury.
James Timothy Turner was convicted on 10 counts and sentenced in 2013 to 18 years in federal prison, plus $26,021 in restitution to the IRS.
