Fact #123 TacticsEnforcement

Next daywhen a social worker resigned after Social Security named her as a child's payee

A tribal social worker barred by her employer from being a child's payee applied anyway, and was exposed in July 2024 when she went with her supervisor to Social Security and it reported that she was the payee.

She denied it to her supervisor, resigned the next day, and was sentenced in June 2026 to five months in prison for stealing $17,638.
